We know that many people enjoy giving back to the community through volunteering at various events. We receive a lot of inquiries from people who are interested in volunteering at Phoenix Niagara parties. We’ve compiled this page to provide some info on the volunteer staff we usually need. Thanks for lending a hand! Your time and effort make a huge difference!
Volunteer Positions
Door Staff
Door staff sign in guests in hourly shifts from 8pm until 11pm. This is not a volunteer position for people who are new to the Lifestyle Community! If you have attended numerous events in Southern Ontario, and are able to recognize a number of familiar faces, you’re the person for the job. The Door Staff is responsible for signing people in on our master guest list, as well as making sure each guest pays their admission fee, and signs a waiver. It’s an easy, pleasant job for the outgoing perv who likes to hug friends, and meet new people.
Hospitality Volunteer
This is the most flexible of all the volunteering positions. A Hospitality Volunteer is responsible for keeping things looking good. You are responsible for periodically checking on the drinks and setting up the buffet at 10:30pm. At midnight we ask that you “freshen up” the buffet table. All supplies needed to replenish the buffet and beverages are situated nearby to make the task as easy, and in-obtrusive as possible. It is crucial that you wash your hands before handling any food.
If you notice any tables in the social area that have accumulated used disposable plates, flatware, or soft drink containers, please take a moment to dispose of them. This volunteer position will require about 30 – 40 minutes total of your time throughout the evening. Tango will meet with you at the party to orient you to where everything is kept. This is a stellar job for people who enjoy service!
Dungeon Monitors (DMs)
DM Volunteers are needed at all times during the party. DM shifts are 1 hour in duration, and are prescheduled. If you have a preference for an early or later shift, let us know, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. At Phoenix Niagara, DMs serve as eyes and ears for the hosts. We ask that you never interrupt or intervene in any scene, unless you are asked for assistance from the Top or Dominant player (such as to help get a spaced submissive off of a piece of equipment and over to a chair, or to bring them the first aid kit).
If you see something that requires attention, you are to notify the Chief DM, who will then deal with whatever the circumstance is. If you see a scene that is obviously over, please approach the Top or Dominant player to offer two bottles of water, and ask if they would like a blanket.
Setup and Teardown Volunteers
Equipment & Room Setup usually begins at around 2pm, and finishes between 4 or 5pm. Volunteers help us bring in pieces from our trailer, and set it up. We have dollies available to make it a much easier job. We also make sure tables, lighting and other supplies are in place. More helpers obviously means we’ll all be done sooner! We then take a break to have dinner at a nearby restaurant (kind of like a munch before the party- it’s great!), and get cleaned up for the party.
The party ends at 1am. Teardown crew assists Q with collapsing and removing play stations, while Tango, and a handful of volunteers pack up various party supplies, and clean up the space. Teardown generally takes 45 minutes to an hour or so, depending on how many people help with it. You can volunteer to help out with all the setup and teardown, or just a portion of it. Please let us know what you’d like to help with.
